sweet 16

Perhaps it is logical that in the first season with a 68-team field, one of the last four at large selections for the field has evolved Sweet 16.

This is a

Sweet 16

, inter alia, that includes many teams like West Mountain - two - from the Big East.

Virginia Commonwealth was one of the last four at large selections and had to join a game in play for a seed No 11 in the south-west. Sunday, the Rams went to the Sweet 16 from steamroller another opponent at the Conference. The Rams beat the Pac-10 at USC in a game in the game, The Big East Georgetown shot in the second round, then killed the Big Ten at Purdue in a game for the third round.
