The night before implementation gave us the hearing in Los Angeles and New York, with an hour to each city. The hearings were in pre-packaged and in front of a studio audience, some are less than 30 seconds hearings, while other sequences of the installation of the speed of light were shown a clip with some injuries and messed up (always fun). Live dance moves at a rapid pace, keep your back stories of the competitors and judges joked to a minimum. If the eye, a hearing would have missed out.
Paula of course, is an esteemed dancer and choreographer in her own right. The judges clearly work as a team. Their comments were warm, uplifting and professional, while criticisms were positive, encouraging and helpful. No nasty tirades to talentless hopefuls, and no backbiting or controversy at the judges table. Even the host was a sweetheart, humorously admitting to knowing the Solid Gold dance routines as a child.
Perhaps the refreshing element of Live is that dance is an extension of the vision of the dance competition Paula Abdul. It reflects the love, encouragement and gentle criticism, but without the Sun snarkiness incarnate, that his past achievements, which they clearly angered most of the time. I feel that the general will, the show was in its persistence. Live dance emits light in the heart and soul. Pure Paula. Show tomorrow night is all about the power to see the courts review their list of who in the semifinals: 5 January, 0800 on CBS.
