Ice cream

Ice cream is a dessert with ice cream. It 'usually consists of a scoop of ice cream topped with sauce or syrup, and in some cases other condiments, including chopped nuts, sprinkles, whipped cream, or maraschino cherries. The first historically documented ice cream was created Sunday, April 3, 1892.

Doodles Google homepage are a bit 'casual, but delicious. The image of 119th anniversary of the first ice cream sundae documented.

The ice cream-colored image replaces the two Os in the Google logo with a cherry on top of ice cream.

The history of ice cream sundae was actually caused great rivalry between the two U.S. cities that claim to be his birthplace - Ithaca, NY, and two rivers, Wisconsin - and Google seems to side with Ithaca.

On 3 April 1892, the Rev. John M. Scott visited the Platt & Colt Pharmacy - and its owner Chester Platt - to Ithaca after services at the Unitarian Church. Platt served two scoops of vanilla ice cream, but decided to jazz it up with cherry syrup and candied cherry, according to What's Cooking America. The duo was so pleased with the creation that Scott suggested that both the name of the day it was created, and "Cherry Sunday" was upon us.
