New York Rangers Derek Boogaard (notes) is gone, dead at 28, his brother discovered his body in his
Minneapolis apartment at 6:10 pm local time, according to Michael Russo of the Star Tribune.
Russo went on Sportsnet Radio in Toronto and spent responding to questions about factors contributing to death Boogaard - such as speculation about the severe concussion he suffered in a fight on Dec. 9 with Matt Carkner (Notes) Sens Ottawa has limited his first season with the New York

"He missed the entire second half with a concussion. But I think we should wait until the autopsy and we'll see what happened, "said Russo, who wrote that the office of Hennepin County Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy on Saturday.
Right Russo: It's not a time for armchair neurology or psychology, it is a time for mourning, which is what fans Boogaard, friends and peers in the NHL have been done since the new erupted into the night Friday.
